He was predeceased by : his son Bryan; his son-in-law Jim Patterson; his parents, Edgar Dittburner and Alma Dittburner; and his siblings, Wally (Gwen) and Lloyd (Loralei).

He is survived by : his daughter Wendy Patterson (Derek); his grandchildren, Bryce (Emma), Ryan (Brielle) and Kaitlyn Patterson; and his siblings, Elaine Weiman (late Alvin), Eunice Howard (late Allan) and Cameron (Bella). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
