She was predeceased by : her parents, Dr. Gordon Anderson Bates and Dorothy Margaret Sawdy; her grandson Mark (James Tennant); her siblings, John Bates and Margaret (Peggy); and her children, Wendy (Richard), Kimberley (Robert) and Dorianne.

She is survived by : her grandchildren, Tara, Grant (Arianne) and James.
