Bertha Luella Fillion-Baker Obituary

It is great sadness that our Mother has slipped into eternal peace and has become our Guardian Angel.

Bertha was born in Kinburn, Ontario to Luella (Topliffe) and Edgar Tolles.

Predeceased by her husbands Norman Fillion and Jack Baker, her sister Syble (Wiltse), brother Schuyler (Tolles), and her son-in-law Phil Heasler.

Our wonderful and loving Mother will be forever missed by her three daughters, Yvette (Dick), Carol and Heather (Rob).

Will be missed and forever loved by her Granddaughter Kathie (Jason) and her Grandsons Shaun (Char), Maurice (Bonny), Brad (Karen), Jason (Lynn).

Mom was a proud Great Grandmother to 8 Great Grandchildren – Michael, Nicole (Riley), Casey, Justin, Lillian, Nahanni, Sierra and Sage.

Mom was also a proud Great Great Grandma to 5 Great Grandchildren – Aiyana, Adalie, Zoey, Selena and Theodore.

Mom's Nephew Ron (Helen) and Niece Donna (Bryce) were wonderful support for Mom. She loved when they came and sat with her and talked about old times.

Many thanks to S.E. Health PSW's, the Paramed Nurses and amazing staff on Connell 3 who all showed compassion and love for our Mother.

Also to the many friends and family who enjoyed her company many times over the years.

In her 108 years Mom experienced the Great Depression, two World Wars, various inventions and made it through 2 pandemics. Mom always had a welcoming smile for everyone. Mom was always up for visitors, going out for meals, shopping and had a great love for the beautiful cat Izzy. Mom enjoyed lots of fun with her friends at Worthington Park.

At Mom's request cremation has taken place and graveside service at Sydenham Cemetery will be on Monday June 30, 2025 at 11 A.M.

Family and friends are invited to attend.

Mom has requested that in lieu of flowers please send donations to the local Food Bank or the Kingston Humane Society.
