Richard Neale Obituary

Richard Gordon Neale, "Rick" July 23rd 1956 to May 7th 2025. It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Ricky, on 7th May, peacefully at home. Rick was predeceased by his parents Rowland and Ruth Neale, and beloved brother Ron Neale.

He is survived by his sister-in-law Rita Neale, niece Erika Johnson, great-niece Kyra Johnson, and several cousins. He will also be greatly missed by his best friend of 65 years Howard Winfrow, Howard's wife June, and their children, Rick's Godchildren, Jamie Lea Asselstine and Mark Winfrow. Rick was born in Long Branch ON, and raised in Long Branch and Alderwood (Etobicoke) where he lived until he retired.

His move to South Frontenac at that time was an opportunity to enjoy watching birds, deer, and even swans on his property. Rick attended school at Parkview, Sir Adam Beck, Franklin Horner, and New Toronto Secondary. In school, he enjoyed Track and Field.

Later he also excelled at bowling and darts, and took up ballroom dance. Rick was a long-standing member at The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 101, in Long Branch. Rick only held 2 jobs in his life: He started at Sayvette, and when they closed he was hired at Pearce Containers, which became Pearce Wellwood and then Menasha, where Rick worked for a total of 45 years until his retirement.

Rick was a kind and gentle person who made friends with all he met. He had a great sense of humour and fun, as well as a love of the outdoors, enjoying many camping and hiking trips and time at the cottage with his brother Ron, sister-In-law Rita, niece Erika, and mutual friends. Traveling abroad with his lifelong friends Paul O'Connor (predeceased) and Howard Winfrow made for laughs, anecdotes, and amazing memories.

He will be greatly missed by his family and friends near and far. Cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
