He was predeceased by : his husband Visser; and his brother Gerrit. He is survived by : his children, Gerald, Rick (Suzette), Fred (Linda), Janice (Rob Sysiuk) and Michael (Sherry); his sibling Gilbert (Margo); his sister-in-law Ruth; and also, Geraldine (Hank), Dirk, Jeanette, Kerry, Evert (Joan), Abe (Lynne) and Rick (Jennifer). He is also survived by sisters-in-law, brothers-in-lay, and his many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Timothy Christian School or Gideons International in Canada.
