He was predeceased by: his wife Marlis Hofmann; his parents, Edwin Maria and Anna Maria; and his sisters, Marei, Nelly, Irmy and Elsi.

He is survived by: his children, Anita of Belmore, Nancy (Bob) of Ottawa, Daniel (Karina) and Patrick (Mario) of Sydney, Australia.; his grandchildren, Aiden and Heather McGarrie of Ottawa; and his sister Trudi of Switzerland.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Belmore Community Centre (with cheques payable to the Township of Howick) would be appreciated.
