He was predeceased by : his parents, Carl Pennington and Vera Pennington; his son Kenneth Pennington; his siblings, George Pennington, Edith Schmidt, Irene Hayden and Roy Pennington; and his siblings-in-law, Donna Pennington, Arnold MacDonald and Thomas McPherson.

He is survived by : his wife Kathleen Pennington; his children, Lynn Fischer (George) of Teeswater, Dianne Pennington of Kincardine, Ron Pennington (Lisa) of Teeswater and Karen Pantaleo (Don) of Milton; his daughter-in-law Pauline Pennington of Cargill; his brother Ray Pennington (Elizabeth) of Teeswater; and his sisters-in-law, Betty Pennington of Wingham and Dorothy MacDonald of Guelph. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Memorial donations to the Wingham and District Hospital Foundation or the Diabetes Association would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy and may be arranged on-line or through the funeral home.
