She was predeceased by : her nieces and nephews, Shelley Hales, Karen James (Casey) of Teeswater and Jacqueline; her father Bert (Louise); her siblings-in-law, Donna Thornton, Wallace (June Ann), Robert, France, William, James Hermeston, Lily and Alice Hermeston; and also Lloyd Thornton.

She is survived by : her nephew David Thornton of Teeswater; her niece Pam Cerson (Guy) of Manitowaning; her goddaughter Karen Dehaan (Seaforth); her grandson Nathan Hermeston; her daughter-in-law Karen Hermeston; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Courtney Barnes (Andrew Barnes), Andy Jaworski (Melissa), Rachel Galloway (Ryan), Kevin Hales (Sarah), Christina Clark, Cory Clark (Jill Swartz), Jimmie Cassell (Ashley Cassell), Justin Thornton (Kelly) and Jessi Jones; and her husband Tom (Tom). She is also survived by cousins, and second cousins, and the extended family.

Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimer Society of Canada would be appreciated by the family.
