He is survived by : his spouse Hazel Rear-Townsend; his stepchild Duane Rear (Jennifer); his children, Tony Townsend (Colleen), Michael Townsend (Sheleigh), Steven Townsend and Krista Stroud-Townsend (Cliff); his brother Peter Millard (Kay); and his siblings-in-law, Louise Gambell (late Bill), Robert Plummer (Dorothy) and Paulette Henderson (late Dan). He is also survived by his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
