He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Cornelius and Meryle Katheryn Armstrong (Kersey); his wife Jacqueline Ann (Jackie); his daughter Kimberly Anne Ferry; his son-in-law Don Ferry; his children, Zachary (Nicole), Megan and Matthew Ferry; and his siblings, Carole Mae and Bradley James.
He is survived by: his son John (Lorraine); his grandchildren, Paisley, Jack (Tatiyaana) and Sahara Armstrong; his great grandchild Myles Thomas Armstrong; and his siblings, Marva, Deborah, Sharell, Robert and Lawrence.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that any donations be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada in his honour.
