“Dear Andrew, Stephanie, Allison and families, I only learned of Ellen’s death last week and I wanted to extend my sincerest condolences to you all. Ellen was one of the most compassionate, loving and funniest persons I have ever known. I know how proud she would be of how your family has grown. Ellen left the world a better place through her kindness, humour and love and will be greatly missed. I hope that you find solace in your many happy memories of a dear wife, mother and grandmother.”

“Ellen Kampf was one of the last of the "old guard" and by that I meant she courageously walked the talk, which in the end, she role modeled for all of us. Ellen was exemplary and exceptional professionally and personally. Ellen was passionate about many causes and stood for them all. I benefited first hand in watching her stand up for something she believed in. I was fortunate to work with her at NYGH, collaborate at OCSWSSW, work with her at TGH-UHN and care for her there too. I am so grateful that she was my mentor and I am so grateful I got the opportunity to tell her that in December and to finally meet her beloved Andrew. I mean to know Ellen professionally or otherwise, you would learn how much love she had and how fond she was of her husband, daughters & dog--later her son in laws and grandchildren. She knew how to make others feel better about themselves. She was a winning combination of intelligence, creativity and a quick witted sense of humor that gave you belly laughs. As I've said before, I'm sad that I missed the service and Shiva, I know this world will miss a wonderful person, but the angels will learn from her as we all did. May this beautiful woman inside and out rest in peace and may God bless all who mourn her passing especially her beautiful family.”
