He is survived by: his significant other Alice; his father Peter Cepelak; his brother Noah Cepelak; his grandmother Irene Swiderski (Babi); his aunt Liz Smit (Peter); his uncle Ed Swiderski; his cousins, Taylor and Erin; his aunt Kathy Cepelak-Clunis; his cousin Sydney; Cameron (Cammy). He is also survived by relatives, coworkers, and lifelong friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Emerson's memory to the Renascent Treatment Centre (Paul J Sullivan house).
