He is survived by : his wife Deborah Gies (Cub); his children, Sandra Recine (Peter), Sheryl McKinley (Gary Dance) and Michele Randall (Michael); his grandchildren, Michael McKinley (Kristin), Stephen Recine (Brittany), Jennifer McKinley (Evan), Brandon Simon (Milana), Andrew Recine (Holly), Ryan Simon (Monica), Paul Randall and James Randall; his great grandchildren, Finn, Cole, Grayson, Olivia, Ally, Owen and Ekaterina; his siblings, Bill Gies (Gert), Eileen Quehl, Ken Gies (Terry) and Frank Gies (Marilyn); and his brother-in-law John Logozny.

Due to the current pandemic restrictions that apply to attending the funeral service the services will be private for family only.
