She was predeceased by : her former life partner Thomas Simpson. She is survived by : her husband David Walz; her children, Ted (Pat), Terry (Kelly), Rob, Rick (Lisa), Toni, Kim (Greg), David (Lisa), Donna and Cornie; her grandchildren, Adam (Laura), Shannon (Shawn), J. D. (Alyssa) and Cheyenne; and her great grandchildren, Mac, Lina, Mya, James, Myles and Cru.

Donations in Jean's memory may be made to the Salvation Army or the church of the Incarnation (Anglican).
