Douglas Houghton Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Douglas Houghton (Thorold, Ontario), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 15, 2026 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Martha Houghton and Fred Houghton. He is survived by: his wife Jane Frazer; his children, Jackie Houghton (Jay Morris) and Jessica Houghton; his grandchildren, Teya and Austin Chalmers; and his siblings, Faye Ricard (Jacques), Jan Tracy (Tim) and Dwight (Sandra). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, February 22nd 2026 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the Pleasantview Funeral Home (2000 Merrittville Hwy., Thorold L0S1E6). A celebration of life was held on Sunday, February 22nd 2026 from 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Doug's memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Niagara SPCA, where he and Jane adopted Penny many years ago.
