Vic von Papn wrote a sympathy message

“Back in the day -- roaring 70's -- Jerry and I, both were motorcycle aficionados. One pleasant summer evening, we tore up the lakeside shore, near Crystal Beach. After swapping rides, I remember trying a quick getaway on his 1970 Triumph Bonnie twin; that one was a real greased lightning machine. And then some! Wasn't long after, Jerry, cut me off at the highway overpass. Never knew my 71 BSA Thunderbolt had it in it. But that was Jerry... Giving it all. Godspeed. VP”

Ian M wrote a sympathy message

“My deepest condolences to the Sheptenko family. Jerry "Rock" was my boss until his retirement. He was a good leader who at one point was responsible for 58 crew members and dozens of students. Every morning the crew gathered outside the shop and Jerry would pull out his pocket notepad and hand out the assignments. He always made regular visits to the job sites and always had a grasp of everything going on. It was a different era of leadership and his name comes up regularly. We golfed regularly.”

Desiree Constantinides wrote a sympathy message

“My sincerest and deepest condolences to the Sheptenko family. I worked for Jerry at the Niagara Parks Commission. He was the best boss I have ever worked for during my life. He really cared about the people who worked under his supervision. He protected us from those in the bureaucracy of the NPC, he checked in with us as people in our personal lives, and he put his neck on the line for the good of his "crew". Jerry was an amazing man; gone too soon. God bless you Jerry....rest in peace.”
