Karen Hoeksema Obituary

With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Karen Hoeksema (Thorold, Ontario), whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Karen left this world on February 28, 2025 at the age of 60, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her son Dylan; her parents, Ross Morris and Sharron Morris; her parents-in-law, Wiecher and Ann Hoeksema; and her brother-in-law Bill Hoeksema (Jeannie).

She is survived by: her significant other Arnold; her sons, Ryan, Shayne and Kyle; her child-in-law Mel (Eric Vander Meer); her grandchildren, Oliver and Arlo; her siblings, Gail Pellow (John), Leslie Waldt (Curtis) and Rob Morris (Karen); her siblings-in-law, Margaret Mans (Andy), Warren Hoeksema (Mary-Ann), Diane Spoelstra (Bob), Hans Hoeksema, Annette Visser (Clarence), Karen Van Weerden (Peter), Irene Hoeksema and Marian Blokker (John); and her friends, Carolyn Janzen and Sheryl Vanalstine. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation was held on Monday, March 10th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Pleasantview Funeral Home (2000 Merrittville Hwy., Thorold L0S1E6). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, March 11th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location.
