It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Karen Lynne Backshall (Thorold, Ontario), who passed away on February 28, 2025, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Douglas; her parents, Ormand Simpson and Margaret Simpson; her siblings, Jim and Josephine; her daughters, Sheri Megginson (Kyle) and Jeannine Bousfield (Doug); her grandchildren, Rebecka (Travis), Grady (Christian), Logan, Virginia (Antonio) and Alorah; her great grandchildren, Karsten and Kannon; her sister Heather Nickerson (Leroy); and her nieces and nephews, Nicole, Hollie, Heath and Todd.
Viewing was held on Friday, March 7th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Pleasantview Funeral Home (2000 Merrittville Hwy., Thorold L0S1E6). A celebration of life was held on Friday, March 7th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, March 7th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:15 PM at the Pleasantview Memorial Gardens (2250 ON-20, Fonthill, ON L0S1E6).
