With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Maria Sergnese (Thorold, Ontario), who passed away on May 31, 2025 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Maria may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She was predeceased by: her husband Tony Sergnese; and her siblings, Nazario Carmosino (Silvana), Pina Camposarcone (Giacomo), Nina Carmosino, Anita Flerlo (Antoino), Grazia Meffe (Liberato) and Bice (Giovanni).
She is survived by: her son Anthony (Mandy); and her granddaughters, Samantha (Sebastian Zukowski) and Katelyn. She is also survived by her many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, June 4th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Bocchinfuso Funeral Home (2 Regent St, Thorold, ON L2V1T1). A prayer was held on Wednesday, June 4th 2025 from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church (21 Queen St S, Thorold, ON L2V3M7). A burial will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at the Pleasantview Memorial Gardens (2250 RR 20, Fonthill, ON L0S1E6).
