He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Stella; his children, Derek (Emma) and Ashley (Louis); his grandchildren, Ben, Chloe Levay, Felix and Elliott LaPorte; his parents, John Levay and Teresa Levay; his siblings, John (Shirley), Joe (Gail), Jerry (Josée), Martin (Mary), Cheryl (Allan) and Terry (Judy); and his siblings-in-law, Rose (Gerry), Vince (Lena), George (Catharine) and Dan (Susan). He was also cherished by numerous nieces and nephews, extended family members, and many friends.

A graveside service was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 at 11:45 AM and from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM. A celebration of life was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 from 12:30 PM to 3:00 PM at the Pleasantview Funeral Home (2000 Merrittville Hwy., Thorold, ON L0S1E6).
