It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Aaro Tapani Halonen (Thunder Bay, Ontario), who passed away on December 2, 2023, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his brothers, Risto and Heimo; his in-law Hilja Kankkunen; and his sister-in-law Ritva Kankkunen. He is survived by: his wife Lea; his son Jari (Christie); his grandsons, Greg (Kyra) and Steven; his siblings, Annikki Itkonen (Taisto), Airi Mastomaki (Erkki), Anja Thitz (Finland) and Ilmari (Toini); his siblings-in-law, Karen Halonen and Osmo Kankkunen; and his nephews, Eric, John and Allan. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
