She was predeceased by: her husband Timothy Sollars; her parents, Ernest Franklin and Estella Franklin; and her brothers, Edmond Franklin, Billy Joe Franklin and Thomas Franklin Sr..

She is survived by: her daughters, Tina Carter and Tonya Carter-Lopez; her grandchildren, Connie Bordier, Veronica Lynn Carter, Anisa Lopez Carter and Pablo Lopez Carter; and her sister Earlene Franklin Wimberly. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
