With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Gail Fikis (Thunder Bay, Ontario), whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Gail left this world on May 16, 2025 at the age of 68, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

Though Gail may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Gail touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.

She is survived by: her husband Dennis; her sons, Thomas (Lisa) and Benjamin (Krista); her grandchildren, Brooklyn, Mason and Theodore; her brothers, David and Ron (Joyce); her sister-in-law Brenda (Ian); and her mother Helen. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends.

“Sorry to hear that Gail didn't get more time to enjoy her retirement with family after contributing so much to the life of the community on third floor Ryan Building. Always present when others were absent, she was the cheerful welcoming human face, there to help students find their way through the maze. She was up for the ongoing impossible task of organizing the profs. A stabilizing influence in turbulent times, she will be missed as well at taco Tuesdays, and by the Friday after work crew.”
