He is survived by: his parents, Norman Maunula and Sandra Maunula; his children, Mariah Maunula and Finley Maunula (Cristiene Hall-Teravainen); his brother Christopher Maunula (Kathie); his niece Alyssa; his nephew Kai; his sister Jo-Anne Zweep (Gary); and his nieces, Morgan and Joelle.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Thunder Bay Youth Curling or the Peter Munk Cardiac Centre in Gary's memory.
