It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gary Alvin Pennanen (Thunder Bay, Ontario), who passed away on December 26, 2023, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Signe Helen and Kauko Olavi Pennanen; his grandparents, Anni Pennanen, Voitto and Emma Kristiina Korpela; his friend Gary; and his grandfather Gust Pennanen.
He is survived by: his cousins, Kalvin Korpela, California, Karen Beaujot (Fred) of Aurora, Ontario, Andrea Pietilainen (Matti) of Dryden, Ontario, Eunice Haight Cott of Etobicoke, Ontario and Adrienne Pasternak of Thunder Bay, Ontario.
Gary gave frequently to charitable causes and donations to schools of higher learning, or organizations with a focus on preservation of wildlife and natural habitat, would be greatly appreciated.
