It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of George Edward Monkhouse (Thunder Bay, Ontario), born in Owen Sound, Ontario, who passed away on June 7, 2025, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, William and Lena (Margaret); and his siblings, Helen Byers and Gerald. He is survived by: his wife Margaret (Tweedie); his children, Brian, Karen (Jorma), Cheryl and Lori (Kevin); his grandchildren, Alex, Michael (Aaron), Melissa (Jonathan) and Sandra (Miles); his great grandchildren, Jameson and Dresden; his brother William (Bill); his sister-in-law Arlene Nolan; and his close friends, Ralph Erickson and John McDonald. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, June 18th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Current River Recreation Centre (450 Dewe Ave, Thunder Bay, ON P7A2G7). Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 18th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers donations to St. Stephen's Church, Current River Recreation Centre or charity of your choice would be appreciated.
