He was predeceased by: his parents, Duc Trong Dao and Nho Thi Le. He is survived by: his wife Huong Nguyen; his children, Anh, Nhat (Tam), Tuan, Chau (Andrew), Yung (Tom) and Tram (Ben); his grandchildren, Dyllan, Nguyet, Tien, Ella, Evie, Jade, Ruby, Conrad and Noah; and his siblings, Nghia, Trung, Thanh, Tai, Minh, Thuy, Tuyet and Nhung.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation – Northern Cancer Fund.
