She was predeceased by: her parents, Anton Bohr and Helena Bohr; her brother Gunther Bohr; her brother-in-law Friedl Kraft; her nephew Roland Kraft; and her husband Jack (Jack).
She is survived by: her children, Tony Bygate (Val), Alyn Bygate (Jackie), Jackie Boyer (Ray) and Susan Merlo (Marino Mihaljevic); her grandchildren, Marlee Bygate (Bora Tekogul), Jake Bygate (Meghan) and Evan Merlo (Dorothy Romanek); and her great grandchildren, Norah, Eva Bygate and Henry Bygate. She is also survived by her grandchildren and numerous other children.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 28th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Sargent & Son Funeral Chapel (21 Court St N, Thunder Bay, ON P7A4T4). A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, January 28th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor her memory are invited to donate to the Alzheimer Society or to a charity of your choice.
