It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Joan Rissanen of Thunder Bay, Ontario, who passed away on April 24, 2026, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband Alvin; her parents, Signe and Joseph; her parents-in-law, Saimi and Weikko; her brother Ernest; her brothers-in-law, Don and Leslie; and her nephew Daniel.

She is survived by: her children, Karen (Darren) of Saskatoon, Kevin (Natalie) of Atikokan and Wendy (Michael) of Grand Cayman; her grandchildren, Maggie, Tiia, Jordan, Karlyn, Cooper, Jayden and Kayla; her sisters, Anita and Brenda (Rob); and her siblings-in-law, Margaret (Charlie) and Rick (Sandra). She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives.
