He was predeceased by: his parents, Alice Bird and Gordon Bird; and his mother-in-law Beatrice Lysnes (William). He is survived by: his wife Sandy; his children, Andrew and Cindy; his brother George Bird; and his sisters-in-law, Grace Bird of West Vancouver, Myrna Leblanc (Richard), Wilma Timko (Ken) and Leah Salini (Joseph).
