He was predeceased by: his mother Charlotte Cornell; his grandchildren, Robert Cornell and Jennifer Cornell; and his great grandchild Caleigh. He is survived by: his wife Carol Bannon; his children, Joyce Pelletier (Marvin), Sandra Cornell-McLaren (Farley), Darryl Cornell and John Cornell; his grandchildren, Jay (Jenna), Brandon (Brooke), Robin (Lenn), Brittany, Samantha, Andrea (Nick), Kylie, Johnny, Joshua and Georjann; and his great grandchildren, Parker, Logan, Noah, Felix, Nikolai, Animkii, Natalie-Jean, Lenni, Lennox, Khloe, Wyatt, Cameron, Caleb, Levi, Maddie, Isabella, Antonio, Isaiah, Elijah and Gabriel. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws and cousins.
Visitation was held on Sunday, February 22nd 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the St. Anne's Roman Catholic Mission Church (126 Mission Rd, Fort William First Nation, ON P7J1K6). A prayer was held on Sunday, February 22nd 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Monday, February 23rd 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
