He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Ivan Lafontaine and Joan Lorna Adduono; his stepfather Leonard John Adduono; his wife Betty; his daughter Lori; his son-in-law Rick; his granddaughter Rachel; his daughter-in-law Carolyn; his siblings, Ivan and Theresa; and his stepsiblings, James, Leonard Adduono, Leona, Judy and Betti.

He is survived by: his children, Michele Doran (Ron), Valmond Jr., Yvon and Rene (Anna). He is also survived by five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, cousins.
