He was predeceased by: his wife Catherine; his parents, Karl Friedl and Mary Friedl; and his parents-in-law, James and Kate Rayfield.
He is survived by: his children, Karl Jr (Julie), Yvonne, Steven (Martina), Jim (Karen), Renata (David), Robert (Stephanie) and Paul (Nancy); his siblings, Theresa (Edward) and John (Yvonne); and his friend Viola. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; one nephew, seven nieces.
