He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Otway and Celia Otway; his brother-in-law Kenneth Olson; and also, Bud Otway and Irene Otway.

He is survived by: his spouse Sharon (Otway); his daughter Kendall Despres; his son-in-law Richard Despres; his daughter Marissa Jordan; his grandchildren, Gianna of Minneapolis and Elise of Minneapolis; his sister-in-law Sheila Olson; his sister Cheryl McCallum; his brother-in-law Jim McCallum; his nieces, Melanie McCallum, Meaghan McCallum and Caitlin McCallum; and his nephew Tyler.
