He was predeceased by: his parents, Jose Pereira Covas and Ana Fernandes Batista; his parents-in-law, Manuel Bettencourt and Julieta Bettencourt; and his siblings-in-law, Aniceto Sousa, Vladan Zugic and Elizabeth Bettencourt.
He is survived by: his wife Filomena; his children, Andrea (Dean) and Lee (Rachelle); his grandchildren, Charleigh, Bennett, Amélie, Caitlin, Anders and Zoë; his siblings, Rosa, Martinha (Franclim) and Hilario (Claudine); his siblings-in-law, Mimi and Norman (family: B. C.); and also, Kerry-Anne (Scott), Ryan (Kailyn), France and Portugal.
As expression of sympathy, donations may be made to Prostate Cancer Support Thunder Bay, Canadian Cancer Society, or a charity of your choice.
