Maria Banski Obituary

She was predeceased by: her former husband Ludwik Poltorak; her husband Jan Banski; her daughter Halina; her son-in-law Larry; and her granddaughters, Jennifer and Tammy.

She is survived by: her extended family, Lucja, Shoaa, Matthew and Mehran Masoom; her daughter Maria; her son-in-law Marek; her granddaughter Katarina; her pet Fury; her daughters, Lucy Kowalczyk (Marek), Wiesia Bodner (Joe Pereira) and Krysia Poltorak; her grandchildren, Jessica Kowalczyk (Jordan LeBlanc), Melanie Armstrong (Bryan), Robert Bodner, Christopher Gilkinson and Derek Gilkinson; her great grandchildren, Katherine Vaillant (Matthew) and Cassandra Gullett; and her great great grandchild Bennett Vaillant. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 13th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Harbourview Funeral Centre (499 Cumberland St N, Thunder Bay, ON P7A4R9). A prayer will be held on Sunday, July 13th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the R. Leino Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre (499 Cumberland St N, Thunder Bay, ON P7A4R9). A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, July 14th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Mary Our Lady Queen of Poland Church (93 Algoma St N, Thunder Bay, ON P7A4Z5). A burial will be held on Monday, July 14th 2025 from 12:15 PM to 12:30 PM at the St. Andrew's Catholic Cemetery (690 Oliver Rd, Thunder Bay, ON P7B6S6).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Thunder Bay or St. Mary Our Lady Queen of Poland Church.
