The memory of Maureen Emily Schmidt (Thunder Bay, Ontario), who passed away on December 11, 2025 at the age of 86, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. She was predeceased by: her husband Herbert; her son Arthur; her granddaughter Patricia; her son-in-law Douglas; her parents, Alexander Gillies and Mabel; her stepmother Eleanor; her brothers, John, Russ and Campbell; her foster siblings, Rick and Shirley; and her sisters-in-law, Elena and Helen.

She is survived by: her daughters, Toni, Connie (Alan), Katherine and Mary (Brad); her grandchildren, Sherry, Tonya, Michael, Christopher, Steven and Alexander; and her sisters-in-law, Ann Bell and Charlotte Gillies. She is also survived by many great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, Mom would want donations to Thunder Bay or Rural Food Banks.
