He was predeceased by: his parents, Myrtle Eva Hoard and George Alfred Ernest Thompson; his brother Ernie Thompson (Shirley Thompson); and his son Kerry Maclam. He is survived by: his sons, Donald Maclam (Charlene), Bob Maclam, Frank Thompson (Jacky) and Kevin Thompson; his stepdaughter Angie Heath (John); his sister Sandra Knibbs (Bob); his spouse Shirley Wanzuk; and his stepchild Poncho. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
