He was predeceased by : his parents, Neil Weir and Lois Weir; his sister Maryann Bosnich (Ted); his nephew Scott Weir; his brother-in-law Ian MacKinnon; and his friends, Paul Weidman, Larry Webb and Bill Butcher.
He is survived by : his wife Eila Määttä; his daughter Yolanda MacKinnon (Craig); his grandsons, David and Andrew; his siblings, Robert Weir and Patricia Botham (Norval); his nieces and nephews, Rhonda (Ken), Laurie (Jamie), Dan (Sabrina), Lena (Jon), Christopher, Adrianne and Brandon; his aunt Nancy; his siblings-in-law, Yvonne, Ilmi, Saara and Heino; and his friends, George Saunders, Bob Burton, Michael and Trish.
A funeral service was held on Wednesday, February 24th 2021 at the Everest Funeral Chapel (299 Waverley St, Thunder Bay, ON P7B5Z7). He was a lifelong Habs fan and had a passion for hockey, playing right up until the pandemic.
