He was predeceased by: his parents, John Robert and Catherine McKellar; his grandsons, Donald Robertson and Kris Lyons; and his siblings, Ken McKellar and Catherine Grout.

He is survived by: his wife Isobel Cyrette; his children, Belinda Robertson (Dave), Howard Meshake (Elsie) and Delores Cyrette (Tom Sinclair); his grandchildren, Jessica, Howard Jr., Sylvia, Bobbi-Lee and Cody; his great grandchildren, Alexis and Heath; and his sibling's children, John, Bill, Jill, Joanne and Judy.
