We are sad to announce that, on December 26, 2025, at the age of 64, Roy Rusty Kakekagumick (Thunder Bay, Ontario) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Jake Kakekagumick and Kanina Kakekagumick; his daughter Kimberly Kakekagumick; his brothers, John Kakekagumick and Leroy Kakekagumick; his niece Gemayle Williams; and his nephews, Lucan Meekis and Albert Williams.

He is survived by: his children, Beverly Mawakeesic, Kienan Williams and Cameron Kakekagumick; his grandchild Emery Mae; his siblings, David D. Kakegamic, Ilean Linklater, Stella Meekis, Bernice Reszitnyk, Denise Kakegamic and Jake Jr. Kakekagumick; and his goddaughter Zeena Meekis.

Contribution to CommunityRoy served as band councilor for three terms for Sandy Lake First Nation.
