As Roy departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Roy may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Roy leaves behind.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Vilho Pietila and Raili Pietila. He is survived by: his siblings, Lea (Allan) and Jari (Joan); and his siblings' children, Sara (Andy), Erin, Ryan (Jessica), Jaana (Rob) and Jennifer (Darcy).
