It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Roy Pietila (Thunder Bay, Ontario), who passed away on June 19, 2025, at the age of 67, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
As Roy departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Roy may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Roy leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Vilho Pietila and Raili Pietila. He is survived by: his siblings, Lea (Allan) and Jari (Joan); and his nieces and nephews, Sara (Andy), Erin, Ryan (Jessica), Jaana (Rob) and Jennifer (Darcy).
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 30th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Harbourview Funeral Centre (499 Cumberland St N, Thunder Bay, ON P7A4R9). A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 30th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the "Save a Heart" campaign at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation or a charity of your choice.
