She was predeceased by : her parents, Anne Kean and Russell Kean; her brother Ronnie (Moe); and her stepson Calvin. She is survived by : her husband Lionel Dean; her children, Phillip Shaw, Christine Shaw, Mark Shaw (June) and Aleta Hrabok (Alex); her stepchildren, Donna (Allan), Lionel Jr. (Gayle), Sam (Bonnie), Jacqueline, Beverley (Lorne), Betty (Claudio) and Terry (Iris); and her siblings, Lauris, Jimmy (Lorraine) and Kenny (Pat). She is also survived by numerous step grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Salvation Army Church on Victoria Avenue in Thunder Bay.
