He was predeceased by: his parents, Donato Matani and Annina (Di Carlo); his brothers, Guerino, Pietro and Pasquale Matani; his parents-in-law, Nicola Magisano and Maria Teresa Tino; and his brothers-in-law, Franco, Giuseppe, Vito and Nicola Magisano.
He is survived by: his daughter Maria-Teresa (Jeffrey Arruda); his wife Chiara; his mothers-in-law, Caterina Masdea (Antonio), Caterina Magisano, Angela Magisano (Italy), Ilda and Yolanda Matani (Italy); and his aunt Ida Scocchia. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
