He was predeceased by: his wife Viola; and his daughter Deborah Laakso. He is survived by: his grandchildren, Matthew and Carley; and his nephew Fred Small.
Their love story lasted for over 63 years until Viola was called home by the Lord, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's Disease in 2012.
