He was predeceased by: his parents, Gordon (Hilda Newham) and Michael; his brothers, Leonard Newham (late Jean) and Roger Newham (Brenda); and his parents-in-law, Jerome and Elsie Devlaminck.

He is survived by: his wife Margaret Newham (Devlaminck); his sisters, Corrine Reynolds (John) and Barb Donnelly (late Brian); and his siblings-in-law, Mary McFadden (George), Dolores Burnie (Drew), Dorothy Johnston (Danny), Nancy Toll (late Randy) and Maurice Devlaminck (Elaine). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, cousins and countless friends.
