He was predeceased by: his parents, Murray Abbott and Mary Abbott (Hetherington); his wife Marion; and his brothers, Clarence (Faye) and Robbie.

He is survived by: his son Murray (Bev) of London, Ontario; his grandson Jonathan (Rachelle); his great grandchildren, Colton, Jayda and Nolan of Glencoe, Ontario; his granddaughter Sarah (Ryan); his great grandchildren, Jack and Charlie of St. Thomas; his daughter Mary-Ellen of Simcoe; his granddaughter Catherine (Tim) of Simcoe; his children, Lucy, Beatrice and Wilbur; his granddaughter Hilary of Hamilton; his children, Robert (Jean) of Tillsonburg and Ruth-Ann (Steve) of Tillsonburg; and his granddaughters, Ellen and Emily. He is also survived by great-grandchildren.
