He was predeceased by: his parent Dirk Dykxhoorn. He is survived by: his spouse Neeltje "Nelly" Dykxhoorn (Van Straten); his children, Janet Medema, John Medema, Harold Dykxhoorn, Teresa Dykxhoorn, Nellie DeJong, John DeJong, Eric Dykxhoorn and Julie Dykxhoorn; his siblings, Margaret Bremer (late Harm), Jack Dykxhoorn, Hermina Dykxhoorn, Tina Dykxhoorn (late Louis) and Corrie Dykxhoorn (late Tony); and his parent Clasina Dykxhoorn (Vanderlugt). He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
