He was predeceased by: his parents, John Hanlon and Mary O'Donnell; his wife Hilda Hanlon R. N. (Knautz); and his siblings, Helen, Tom, Mary, Mildred and Joan.
He is survived by: the fathers of children, Jim of Tillsonburg and Ken of Oakville; his daughter Elaine; his grandchildren, Dennis, Jay Hanlon, Jacquelyn, Shannon and Kaitlyn Lyons; and his sister Anne of New Hamburg.
Memorial donations in James' memory are payable by cheque to the "St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church" or the "Canadian Cancer Society" through the funeral home.
