He was predeceased by : his daughter-in-law Sharon D'Hondt; his brothers, Marcel D'Hondt (Suzanne) and Alfons D'Hondt; and his brothers-in-law, Joel Vermeersch and Roger Geysens.

He is survived by : his wife Barb Demarest. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
